Our understanding of the forgiveness of all of our sins - past, present, and future - is central to our experience of freedom in Christ. When Jesus declared, "It is finished! " from the cross, He was proclaiming that He had dealt with sin on our behalf once and for all. The Book of Hebrews teaches us that without a continual recognition in our hearts of the fact that our sins have been forgiven, we are doomed to repeat the same sins over and over again (Hebrews 10: 1-18).
